Latest update from Olympic sailor Roos Wind
Over the last couple of months, Roos has been working hard towards her Olympic goal. In January, she competed in the Senior World Championship in Mar del Plata, Argentina. For many athletes, this was the selection event for the Olympic Games in Paris. “It was interesting to see how different athletes deal with this pressure.”
In February, Roos focused on her physical strength, which came in handy in April when she competed in the World Cup in Palma de Mallorca. These six days of racing in the senior fleet were physically challenging due to the extreme conditions. After three days, the 116 participants were divided into silver and gold fleets. Roos was happy to make the gold fleet and race among the top sailors.
Roos is currently preparing for the U21 World Cup in Viana do Castelo, Portugal, which begins this summer. “I am confident in my abilities, and I look forward to taking on the challenge!”
